Agnes Kagure, who is vying for the Nairobi Governor seat, has expressed her appreciation to opposition leaders led by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka for standing with her family following the death of her mother.
As her family continues with burial preparations, Kagure acknowledged the support she has received from political allies, friends, and supporters during one of the most difficult moments in her life.
In a message shared on her Facebook page, Kagure thanked Kalonzo and members of the Wiper Patriotic Front, as well as leaders from the wider opposition movement, for showing solidarity with her family as they mourn the loss of their loved one.
She said their presence and encouragement had provided comfort to the family as they prepare to give her mother a final farewell.
“Heartfelt thanks to my elder brother H.E Kalonzo Musyoka and the entire Wiper Patriotic Front and United Opposition team for standing with my family as we prepare to lay our mother to rest. You remain valued and reliable friends. Mbarikiwe sana,” Kagure wrote.

Her message was accompanied by photographs taken during a memorial mass held in honour of her late mother.
The images showed Kalonzo Musyoka, former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, and several other political leaders joining family members and friends for the solemn occasion. The gathering provided an opportunity for those close to the family to offer prayers, condolences, and words of encouragement as they continue to cope with the loss.
The death of Kagure’s mother has attracted messages of sympathy from leaders across different political backgrounds. Many have reached out to comfort the family and express their support during the mourning period.
The show of unity from leaders who often come from different political camps highlighted the respect and goodwill extended to the family at a time of grief. For Kagure, the loss has been deeply personal.
While she remains active in public life and continues to engage with Nairobi residents, she has also been leaning on the support of relatives, friends, and colleagues as she navigates the difficult days following her mother’s passing.
The memorial service brought together people from various walks of life, including political leaders, supporters, and members of the community who wished to stand with the family.
Their presence reflected the strong relationships Kagure has built over the years through both her business ventures and public service activities.
