Pastor Kanyari expresses frustration over Marion Naipei’s persistent drinking despite church role

Salvation Healing Ministry founder Pastor Victor Kanyari has publicly expressed frustration over social media personality Marion Naipei’s continued alcohol consumption, despite ordaining her to serve in key roles within his church.

Speaking during a Sunday, March 29, 2026 service, Kanyari admitted that mentoring some individuals can be an uphill task, even for seasoned spiritual leaders committed to transformation and discipline.

The preacher claimed Naipei had spent the entire Saturday night drinking, yet was expected to report early for church duties the following morning.

By the time of his address, she had not arrived.

Kanyari told congregants they should expect her to arrive late and make a dramatic entrance, suggesting that such behaviour had become predictable and difficult to correct.

He said he had repeatedly urged Naipei to abandon alcohol, but her assurances that she had stopped drinking were often contradicted by visible signs suggesting otherwise.

According to the pastor, guiding her has felt like “taming a wild animal,” a comparison he used to illustrate the complexity of changing deeply rooted habits.

Despite the public criticism, Kanyari maintained that his calling is to help people reform and that he would not give up on Naipei, even if the process demands patience and persistence.

He acknowledged that some individuals are harder to influence than others, but reaffirmed his commitment to continue mentoring her toward what he described as spiritual and moral growth.

In a related development, Naipei recently weighed in on TikToker Hanna Benta’s online controversy involving leaked private videos.

Speaking during a TikTok Live session with Manzi wa Mombasa on March 24, 2026, she cautioned Hanna against seeking refuge at Kanyari’s church.

Naipei criticised Hanna for portraying herself online as a Christian who does not sin, arguing that such claims were misleading given the unfolding scandal.

She further stated that the church was already “full” of individuals it had helped and bluntly declared that she would not welcome Hanna as a member.

Naipei also revealed that she had previously endured a similar ordeal involving leaked videos, but said she eventually changed her behaviour.
