The wife of the late Kasipul MP Charles Ong’ondo Were has come out with a chilling claim she says her life is in danger. Just days after her husband was brutally killed, she now believes the same people behind his death are after her. It’s a terrifying thought, and you can hear the fear in her voice when she talks about it.
She says unknown people have been following her as she goes about her day. Whether it’s heading to work or moving around town, she keeps noticing suspicious faces and strange movements.
According to her, it’s not just once or twice it’s happening too often to ignore. That’s why she’s now asking the government and security teams to step in before something worse happens.
“I have seen suspicious people following me. I believe the same people who killed my husband are still after me,” she said, clearly shaken.
Her husband’s death has left a huge gap, not just in her family, but in the whole Kasipul area. People are still mourning. It wasn’t just a random act. Many believe he was targeted. The police are still investigating, but they haven’t said much.

No names, no arrests, no real answers yet. Now his widow is saying even her home doesn’t feel safe anymore. She’s scared for her life, and more importantly, for her children. She wants protection.
She wants the government to take her seriously, not wait until it’s too late. “I am not safe. My children are not safe. We need help,” she said.
Her words have caught the attention of leaders from Homa Bay and other places. They’re calling for action, asking the security agencies to protect her and speed up the investigations into what really happened to her husband. Many people feel the same. They can’t understand how an MP could be killed just like that, and now his wife is also being threatened.
What kind of message does that send? It’s not just about politics anymore. It’s about safety, justice, and whether anyone is actually safe in this country if people can be targeted so easily. Kenyans are angry. They want answers. They want the killers found. But most of all, they want this widow and her children to be protected before we wake up to another sad story.
