Pure lies’ Kindiki reacts to viral claims on CS Ruku drama

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has dismissed claims that he publicly scolded Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku during a recent government function in Embu County. The rumours started spreading after a consultative meeting with elders in Mbeere North, where some people suggested that Kindiki had attacked Ruku’s performance and loyalty to the government.

These claims created an impression that there might be conflict or disunity within President William Ruto’s Cabinet.

In a strongly worded post shared on his official social media pages, Deputy President Kindiki refuted the reports and called them desperate, mischievous, and utterly malicious. He said that his remarks during the event were wrongly interpreted and twisted to create a false narrative.

According to him, the comments were not directed at CS Ruku but rather at a former Cabinet Secretary from the region. He explained that the message was meant to remind all government leaders to stay united, uphold integrity, and work together to deliver on their responsibilities.

Kindiki clarified that he did not lecture or target Geoffrey Ruku in any way. Instead, he stressed the importance of collective responsibility and loyalty within the Executive. He said it is important for all leaders to support government policies and speak with one voice to avoid sending mixed signals to the public.

He warned against using lies and twisted stories to create divisions in the government, especially at a time when unity is needed to tackle the country’s challenges.

He also asked media houses and political players to stop spreading false information and avoid unnecessary conflict. He said misleading stories only cause confusion and damage the trust citizens have in their leaders.

Kindiki added that deliberate attempts to divide Cabinet members should be condemned by all well-meaning Kenyans.

The incident has stirred political conversations about internal cohesion within President William Ruto’s administration and highlighted the growing public scrutiny of Cabinet interactions.
