Pressure mounts on Babu After Mosiria exposes years of empty politics

The fight between Geoffrey Mosiria and Babu Owino has taken a new turn, and it’s clear now that Babu is feeling the heat. What started as online drama has become a direct political confrontation, and this time, Mosiria isn’t holding back. In fact, it seems Babu’s usual loud approach is finally being checked by someone who isn’t afraid to call him out.

When Babu posted a misleading photo claiming to show a flooded area in Pipeline, trying to embarrass Mosiria and Nairobi’s leadership, he probably didn’t expect to be exposed so quickly. Mosiria responded with facts, saying the image was from 2021 in Eastleigh, not from Pipeline, and the current Pipeline area has seen real improvements.

This left Babu looking like someone who is desperate for attention and willing to lie just to stay relevant. This beef isn’t new. It goes back to their university days, where Mosiria says he once ran against Babu in student elections and faced unfair treatment.

Even during the 2017 elections, Mosiria claims he stepped aside for Babu out of goodwill. But instead of appreciating that, Babu has continued to target him. Now that Mosiria is actively engaging with Embakasi East residents through environmental cleanup efforts and noise control campaigns, Babu appears to be rattled.

He sees Mosiria as a threat, and his social media posts attacking him show a level of panic. Instead of responding with maturity, Babu has resorted to old tricks throwing around baseless accusations.

He accused Mosiria of extortion and even said he was expelled from university. But when Mosiria sought official confirmation from the University of Nairobi, they confirmed he graduated with no disciplinary record.

That alone made Babu look like a man making things up to protect his own turf. The truth is, Babu has built his brand on noise, insults, and cheap popularity. But now that someone like Mosiria is focusing on real service delivery and public engagement, Babu’s tactics are getting exposed.

He thrives on controversy, not development. He rarely shows a real plan for his people, and that’s why the attention is shifting away from him. It’s clear he is hiding behind outdated drama because he knows he has little to show on the ground.

Mosiria’s calm but firm approach is slowly showing voters that leadership isn’t about shouting the loudest. Babu’s days of using social media for clout without results on the ground might just be numbered. If he doesn’t start focusing on real work and stops playing victim whenever someone challenges him, he risks being completely sidelined.
