Mwelekeo Insights digital survey shows Wakili Steve emerging as the clear front runner in Dagoretti South parliamentary race

With the 2027 General Election drawing closer, new findings from Mwelekeo Insights are offering an early look at how respondents currently view the race for the Dagoretti South parliamentary seat.

The final results of the organization’s digital survey show clear differences in support among the leading candidates, giving an indication of public opinion at this stage of the campaign.

According to the survey, Wakili Steve of the Jubilee Party is the current frontrunner with 46 percent support.

The result places him comfortably ahead of the rest of the field and suggests that he has built a strong base among those who participated in the online poll.

In second place is the incumbent Member of Parliament, John “KJ” Kiarie of the UDA party, who received 29.2 percent support. While he remains one of the leading contenders, the survey shows a noticeable gap between him and the Jubilee candidate.

Even so, the figures indicate that he continues to enjoy significant backing from a sizeable share of respondents.

The race becomes much closer among the remaining candidates. Dennis Waweru of the DCP party secured 12.1 percent, while fellow DCP candidate Fanya Mambo Kinuthia followed with 10.6 percent.

The presence of two candidates from the same party appears to have split support within DCP, leaving neither candidate able to challenge the two leading contenders in the current standings.

Edward “Tosh” of the MVP party recorded 2.2 percent support, placing him at the bottom of the survey.

The figures suggest that his campaign still has considerable ground to cover if it hopes to compete with the frontrunners as the election season progresses.

The digital survey was conducted through the Mwelekeo Insights online polling platform, where participants were able to cast their votes while results updated in real time.

The poll focused on percentages of support instead of raw vote numbers, making it easier to understand the overall direction of public opinion.

As with any opinion survey, the findings represent views at the time of polling and do not predict the final outcome of the election.

Political observers note that voter preferences can change as campaigns intensify, candidates engage more with residents, and new issues emerge.

While the current results show Wakili Steve holding a clear advantage, there is still time for the race to shift before voters head to the ballot.
