Polo Kimani has shared a shocking experience that exposes a well-orchestrated setup involving an alleged police officer and a businessman he had previously exposed.
According to Kimani, the events began last week when a man identified on Truecaller as “Daniel Kaliku OCS Kitui” contacted him. The man introduced himself as a fan of Kimani’s work on X and claimed to need an electric fence installed around a one-acre plot in Karen.Kimani, who runs an electric fencing company, agreed to the job and informed Kaliku that he needed to visit the site for evaluation.
Kaliku sent him a surveillance fee to cover his fuel, and they initially planned to meet on Friday. However, Kaliku postponed to Saturday, March 8. On that day, Kimani traveled to the provided location near Frenzy Lounge on Lang’ata Road.

Upon arrival, he noticed that Kaliku was not at the site and had left. After a brief phone call, Kaliku instructed a security guard to let Kimani in, assuring him he would arrive soon.
Once inside, Kimani grew suspicious. There was no wall to install an electric fence on. When he asked about it, Kaliku claimed they only needed a quotation for now and would call him once the wall was constructed.
Kaliku then excused himself to make a phone call, which raised further doubts. Shortly after, a small Toyota Vitz drove in and parked in front of the house, but no one stepped out at first.
As Kimani and Kaliku walked toward the other side of the plot, they approached the parked car. A man was leaning against it, drinking a mango smoothie. Suddenly, another man stepped out of the vehicle, grinning and calling out, “Polo Kimaniiii!” At first, Kimani thought he was just an enthusiastic follower.

But as the man got closer, he recognized him it was Imran Khosla, the very person he had exposed in the past. At that moment, Kimani knew he had walked into a trap. Looking at Kaliku, he noticed the same sheepish smile, confirming his suspicion that the entire fencing job was a setup.
His mind raced as he recalled that the caller had “OCS” in his Truecaller name, a detail he had ignored earlier. Before he could react, a police officer armed with an AK-47 stepped out from behind the Vitz.
Kimani instinctively reached for his phone to send an emergency alert, but Khosla ordered the officer to seize it. The cop grabbed his iPhone 15 Pro Max and Redmi A1, then instructed, “Shika huyu.”
The officer yanked Kimani’s trousers from the back, signaling that he was now under their control. Understanding the gravity of the situation, Kimani remained calm.
If a billionaire had personally come for him, he thought, his chances of survival were slim. The men ordered him into the car, not the boot but the back seat, right next to the armed cop. Kimani knew that if he got into that car, it would be his last day alive.
As he reached for the car door, he took a desperate gamble. He lifted his left foot and suddenly dashed toward the gate. The AP officer’s grip loosened, likely because he wasn’t expecting resistance. Kimani sprinted, fully aware that his only escape route was the gate lined with rusty razor wire the very kind he installs.
He ran with everything he had, knowing that stopping was not an option. As he approached the gate, he spotted steel bars used as frames. Without hesitation, he stepped onto one, launching himself over the razor wire. He expected to be sliced or get stuck, but survival was his only focus.

He threw himself over, determined to make it out alive. Kimani’s harrowing escape raises serious concerns about the involvement of law enforcement in setups and potential abductions. It also exposes the lengths to which powerful individuals will go to silence those who expose their activities.
The fact that a supposed OCS was part of the operation further points to deep-seated corruption and abuse of power. If Kimani had entered that car, his fate would have likely been sealed.
This incident is a reminder that whistleblowers and activists are constantly at risk, especially when dealing with influential figures with access to law enforcement resources.
The authorities must investigate how a police officer and a known businessman were able to orchestrate such an ambush.
