As reported by KTN News, Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli has raised concerns about an alleged plan to destabilize the government by targeting key officials.
He claimed that Interior Principal Secretary (PS) Raymond Omollo, National Intelligence Service (NIS) Director Noordin Haji, and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Renson Ingonga are the main targets of this plot.
He warned that discrediting these offices could harm the government’s stability.
Atwoli claimed that the alleged plan seeks to weaken the Executive, Parliament, and Judiciary.
He called on Members of Parliament to be alert and defend these institutions from political attacks. He emphasized the importance of protecting the offices of the Interior, DPP, and NIS to ensure the government remains functional and strong.
Defending Noordin Haji, Atwoli supported his decision to drop some court cases, saying it was done in good faith.
He dismissed accusations linking President William Ruto’s government to abductions, calling such claims false and politically motivated.
Atwoli argued that the current administration, being popular, would not involve itself in such activities.
Atwoli’s remarks come at a time of heightened political tension.
Earlier, former President Uhuru Kenyatta had urged Generation Z to stand up for their rights and defend what belongs to them.
These developments highlight the ongoing debates about governance and leadership in the country.
The COTU boss expressed his concern that some groups are working to discredit the government and its key offices.
He urged leaders and citizens to remain focused on protecting the institutions that keep the country stable.
Atwoli’s warning adds to the wider conversation about Kenya’s political future and the challenges facing the current administration.
