A Kenyan man has been left heartbroken after his brand new Subaru Forester reportedly disappeared before it could even be delivered to him.
What should have been a joyful day of receiving a new vehicle instead turned into a painful experience after the car was allegedly stolen while being transported to Nairobi.According to reports, the white Subaru Forester, which was bearing KD number plates, was being transported from the Coast to Nairobi when the incident happened.
The driver transporting the vehicle was reportedly intercepted by armed criminals at Malili along Mombasa Road. The suspects allegedly carjacked the driver before making away with the vehicle, leaving its destination unknown.
The incident has deeply affected the owner, who had been eagerly waiting for the arrival of the new vehicle. Friends familiar with the matter said he had not even had the chance to see the Subaru in person before it disappeared. Instead of celebrating the delivery of his new purchase, he was forced to deal with the shocking news that it had been stolen while still on its way to him.
Road safety organisation Sikika Road Safety later shared photos of the missing Subaru on social media, asking members of the public to stay alert and help locate the vehicle.
The group appealed to anyone who may come across the car or have useful information to report it to the authorities or reach out through the channels provided in the public alert.
The incident quickly attracted attention online, with many Kenyans expressing concern over how a vehicle could be stolen while in transit. Some people advised buyers to use trusted vehicle transport companies or low-loaders when moving newly imported vehicles across long distances.
