Ichungwah threatens legal action against Gachagua over explosive Ol Kalou rigging allegations

According to available sources of news, the political temperature in the Mt. Kenya region has flared up significantly after National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah issued a fierce pushback against former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Ichung’wah’s explosive response follows allegations linking him to a coordinated plot to compromise the integrity of the upcoming July 16 Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election.

In an official statement issued from the Office of the Leader of the Majority Party, Ichung’wah has taken great exception to what he has termed reckless, false, and malicious fabrications.

Gachagua had earlier accused government figures of holding secret meetings with administration officials and trying to influence IEBC personnel to tilt the playing field.

Dismissing these claims as outright lies born out of political panic, Ichung’wah has stated that the former Deputy President is simply using conspiracy theories to mask an impending electoral defeat.

To preserve the sanctity of the democratic process, the Majority Leader has vowed to take legal action against the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader.

Ichung’wah has challenged Gachagua to prepare to substantiate his heavy allegations before a court of law, noting that empty political rhetoric cannot withstand judicial scrutiny.

Turning the tables, Ichung’wah has accused Gachagua’s own field operatives of deploying reverse psychology.

He has claimed that it is actually opposition elements who have been distributing inflammatory leaflets across Ol Kalou to instill fear among voters as their initial campaign momentum slows down.

With less than a week left before voters head to the ballot, the sharp exchange highlights the deep division within the region’s leadership.

Ichung’wah has reassured residents that the state would ensure a peaceful environment, insisting that no amount of manufactured propaganda or divisive tribal mobilization will successfully alter the democratic will of the Ol Kalou electorate.Source.
