According to available sources of news, the political temperature in the Mt. Kenya region has flared up significantly after National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah issued a fierce pushback against former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Ichung’wah’s explosive response follows allegations linking him to a coordinated plot to compromise the integrity of the upcoming July 16 Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election.
In an official statement issued from the Office of the Leader of the Majority Party, Ichung’wah has taken great exception to what he has termed reckless, false, and malicious fabrications.

He has claimed that it is actually opposition elements who have been distributing inflammatory leaflets across Ol Kalou to instill fear among voters as their initial campaign momentum slows down.
