Leaked video showing moment after fall of slain university student at Airbnb, Kileleshwa emerges

An unexpected twist has emerged in the ongoing investigation into the death of Murang’a University student Constance Githinji after a leaked video surfaced online, allegedly capturing moments shortly after the incident at a short-stay apartment in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.

In the video, which is now widely circulating on social media, a man believed to be Tony Odhiambo the prime suspect in the case is heard speaking from the ground floor of the building.

According to the audio in the clip, he is heard trying to explain the situation to a person believed to be a security officer, saying that Constance Githinji had wanted to harm herself.

The man in the video is also heard claiming that the student had waved goodbye to him before jumping from the building.

He is further heard advising the security officer to report the matter at Kilimani Police Station.

The footage also shows a disturbing scene on the ground floor, where blood can be seen, indicating the severity of the fall.

The video has since raised more questions about the events leading up to the tragic incident.

Earlier preliminary reports had suggested that the student may have died by suicide following an alleged disagreement inside the apartment.

However, newer developments, including postmortem findings, have cast doubt on this claim.

The autopsy indicated that Constance had suffered serious injuries before the fall, raising suspicion that she may have been assaulted prior to the incident.

Investigators are now treating the case as a suspected murder and are working to determine the exact sequence of events.

Detectives are analyzing CCTV footage, reviewing the leaked video, and gathering witness statements to verify all claims.

Police have not yet confirmed the authenticity of the video but say it will form part of the evidence being examined in the investigation.

The death of the 22-year-old student has left many Kenyans with more questions than answers.

Her family has strongly rejected claims that she took her own life, insisting that she had plans for her future and no reason to harm herself.

Constance had reportedly completed her university exams and was preparing to begin her industrial attachment ahead of her expected graduation later this year.
