Nyandarua senator John Methu has said he has not received his salary for more than six months.
He linked the problem to an agency notice placed on his bank account, which has blocked access to his earnings.
Speaking on April 27 during a radio interview, the senator described the situation as heavy and stressful. He said the freeze has affected his daily life and slowed down some of his official work.
Bills have piled up, and routine responsibilities have become harder to manage.
Methu suggested that his political position may be connected to the issue. He has been outspoken in recent months and has taken strong positions on national matters. Although he did not name those behind the action, he pointed to a wider pattern affecting leaders who hold different views.
He drew comparisons with Rigathi Gachagua, saying similar financial pressure followed his removal from office. Methu remains one of Gachagua’s close allies and has often defended him in public debates.
The senator also criticized William Ruto, claiming that some leaders are being pushed aside through indirect means. He said political movements such as Linda Mwananchi continue to attract support despite these challenges.
Methu dismissed claims that Uhuru Kenyatta is funding opposition activities. He said the former president now keeps a low profile and only offers guidance when asked.
Methu also revealed that he once declined a large financial offer tied to political decisions.
He said his stand remains firm. Even with growing pressure, he signaled that he will continue speaking on national issues and representing his constituents.
