TV 47 announces job opening for qualified Journalists

TV 47, the latest station, which is dedicated to telling untold stories in corporate sector and their involvement in youth, and also county news has announced massive job opportunities for qualified journalists.

The station is owned by Cape Media which was established by Mount Kenya University (MKU) owner Prof Simon Gicheru.

TV 47 is a fast growing station and would like you to be part of its winning team. The following positions have been announced and is open at the home of untold stories:-

(1 reporter, 1 cameraperson)

– Must be based in Kigali, Rwanda
– Fluent in oral and written English and Kiswahili
– Great videos recording and editing skills
– Bachelor’s degree in journalisms or equivalent
– 1year experience in reporting/camerawork
– Ability to operate LiveU –Live video streaming solution for TV


– Receive assignments or evaluate leads or tips to develop story ideas.
– Arrange interviews with people who can provide information about a story.
– Coordinate logistics for productions or events.
– Transmit news stories or reporting information from any locations, using live broadcast equipment



– Bachelor’s degree in communications or journalism
– 3 years experience
– Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
– A clear, strong speaking voice.
– Mastery of verbal and written English and Swahili


– Properly represent the face of TV47
– Participate in helping to formulate news stories by pitching ideas and providing feedback on content
– Quality check each story to ensure grammatical correctness, accuracy, and clarity.
– Participate in researching and writing news stories.
– Transmit news stories or reporting information from any locations, using live broadcast equipment

– Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, Broadcast Journalism, Social Sciences or its equivalent from a recognized institution

– Master’s degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage
– A big picture thinker and great vision seller
– Have superior data analysis skills
– Demonstrable leadership and Teambuilding
– Great planner and a Resource Management
– Mastery of regulatory rules of TV content production and broadcast

– Planning, co-coordinating and overseeing the production of content
– Formulation and implementation of TV47 Programme policies.
– Developing attractive program schedules to ensure growth in audience and maintaining required high quality standards
– Preparing reports on statistical indicators on the performance of TV47 on a regular basis
– Advising the management board on all Television Programme matters
