Three of the most popular restaurants around United States International University (USIU) -Africa were on the night of Monday July 6 set on fire.
The restaurants namely Fifi’s, Nacy’s and Coast Dishes went up in flames much to the alarm of nearby residents.
Water brigades are currently working to put it out. So far, no casualties have been reported.
Sources nearby the scene spoke to 254News.co.ke to establish the cause of the fire.
“The fire started like an hour ago. Gas explosion.” interred one source.
Other sources suspected a land dispute that was the result of the fire.
Fires have hit restaurants surrounding USIU campus in recent periods and have become more frequent.
In October last year, a restaurant by the name Uncle Bill’s was razed down in a night fire, claiming also an MPESA shop and destroying property of unknown value.
Alarm bells rang home when in November 2018 USIU’s cafeteria kitchen was set ablaze, however no one was harmed.
