Kenyan media personality and comedian Oga Obinna has strongly denied claims circulating on social media that he had anything to do with the death of Shalkido, a member of the popular music group Sailors Gang.
The rumors, which have been spreading widely online, accuse Obinna of being involved in a “sacrifice” for fame and success claims he says are both false and painful.
Speaking in a interview, Obinna expressed deep frustration over how quickly people spread lies without caring about the truth.
He said he was shocked to see his name linked to such a serious and heartbreaking story, especially since he had great respect for Shalkido as an artist and a friend.
“I would never do such a thing. It hurts to see people use someone’s death to chase clout or create fake stories,” Obinna said.
“Shalkido was a talented young man, and his passing was a tragedy that affected many of us. To claim that I had anything to do with it is very unfair.”

Obinna also warned his followers and Kenyans in general to be careful about what they believe or share online.
He said misinformation can easily destroy reputations and cause emotional harm to families and friends who are already grieving.
The comedian added that he understands people often look for someone to blame during difficult times, but insisted that spreading lies only makes things worse.
He reminded Kenyans that Shalkido’s death should be treated with the respect it deserves and that people should let the authorities and family handle the matter privately.
Obinna has faced similar rumors before, which he says are part of the price of being a public figure in the entertainment industry.
However, he vowed not to be intimidated or silenced by baseless claims, saying he will continue focusing on his career and using his platform to spread positivity.
He concluded by calling for more kindness online, asking Kenyans to verify information before sharing it.
“Let’s use social media to uplift one another, not to destroy lives,” he said.
The incident has sparked debate among fans about the dangers of online rumors and the need for responsible use of social media.
