Silverstone Air has added Kabunde Airstrip, Homa Bay town to its growing list of destinations it connects. Silverstone air launched it’s Homa Bay flight today. It shall be deploying a Dash 8-100 type of Aircraft that has a capacity of 37 Passengers.
Effective today September 2, 2019, the carrier started direct flights from its Wilson Airport hub, Nairobi to the upgraded Kabunde Airstrip daily.
“We are delighted to include Homa Bay town in our growing list of destinations that we serve. This new service which will be a daily one is expected to help the people in and around the great county access affordable and reliable air service,” Patrick Oketch, head of sales and marketing for Silverstone, said.
Introductory fare is 6500 for a one way trip. The Journey is 35 minutes. For the start, it operates on morning hours.
Wilson 7:15am to Kabunde 8:00am
Kabunde 8:15am to Wilson 9:00am

During the launch, the Homa Bay county leadership led by Deputy governor Hamilton Orata thanked Silverstone management for adding Homa Bay town to their list of destination. He promised to put structures for different businesses around the Airstrip.
He asked the national government through Kenya Airport Authority to speed up their plans of expanding the Kabunde Airstrip further.
