A tragic incident at a junior secondary school in Migori County has left a family in mourning after a Grade 9 student was arrested for allegedly killing his classmate following a disagreement over learning materials.
The incident occurred on July 22, 2026, in Uriri Sub-county, where a 17-year-old student of Akonjo Junior Secondary School is accused of attacking and fatally injuring another 17-year-old student who was in the same class.
The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
According to authorities, the two students reportedly had a disagreement earlier in the day while at school.
