Reverend Lucy Natasha faces growing talk over alleged lesbianism amid strong ministry work

Reverend Lucy Natasha, a popular Kenyan pastor who leads the Empowerment Christian Church in Nairobi, has often been at the center of conversations not only for her ministry but also for allegations surrounding her alleged lesbianism.

Known by her followers as the “Oracle of God,” she has built a large platform through her sermons, books, and outreach programs, inspiring many young people who connect with her modern approach to faith.

Born in a modest family, she began preaching at a young age and has since grown her ministry into an international platform, traveling to different countries to spread messages of faith, empowerment, and prosperity.

While many admire her stylish image and bold personality, her personal life has repeatedly come under scrutiny, with social media fueling rumors and speculation.

A recent example of this came through a Facebook post where a user made a coded remark that appeared to suggest intimate relationships with women.

The comment, written partly in slang and Swahili, included the phrase “giving scissors what belongs to scissors,” which is widely interpreted as a reference to same-sex interactions between women.

The post was linked to shared content whose exact details were unclear but sparked reactions online.

Like many such comments, it relied on humor and innuendo, but it added to the growing wave of speculation about Natasha’s private life.

Much of the discussion has revolved around her friendship with beauty entrepreneur Phoina Tosha.

The two have been seen together at numerous events, including when Natasha attended the launch of Phoina’s beauty clinic.

They have also worked together on charity drives and women-focused initiatives.

Natasha has described Phoina as a God-fearing woman who shares her values, stressing that friendships among women should be celebrated rather than misinterpreted.

Phoina, on her part, has said Natasha is her pastor and a source of spiritual guidance, underlining the supportive nature of their relationship.

Despite these explanations, rumors about Natasha’s alleged lesbianism continue to surface, often magnified by social media debates where images or videos of her with close friends are turned into gossip.

Her marriage to Prophet Stanley Carmel, with whom she has carried out ministry work internationally, including in India, has not stopped online users from speculating.

Natasha has repeatedly chosen not to dwell on such talk, focusing instead on her church activities, family, and published works such as “Characteristics of a Godly Woman.”
