(Homa Bay County Governor Cyprian Awiti)
Homa Bay county which is the test tube for Nyanza politics has now devolve it’s leadership wrangles to its lowest levels if the power tussle witnessed today at the Homa Bay teaching and Referral Hospital over transfer is anything to go by.
A power tussle that began on Friday last week where the Homa Bay county teaching and referral hospital Health Administration Officer (HAO) Zachary Oluoch Ogweno refused to go on transfer to Kasipul Sub County Hospital, his new working station.
“He refused to leave, he waited for the new Administrator Immaculate Njunga, organized with the local goons and had her chased out of the office” a little bird told 254News.
Adding, “It took the intervention of the police to restore peace at HBCTR Hospital”
Today it was the turn of the new administrator Immaculate to pay back.
“The new Administrator Immaculate Njunga in the company of her goons and the police reported to the new station that is the Administrator’s office inside HBCTRH, forced the outgoing Administrator Ogweno to sign an agreement that he is leaving Homabay Bay Teaching and Referral Hospital to Kasipul Sub County Hospital by force under tight security of police and the back up of the goons” the source further clarified.
Immaculate was working at the Rachuonyo North Sub County Hospital as Administrator.
Sources say the Homa Bay county executive member for health Prof Richard Ouma Muga was doing the transfer to conceal an ongoing theft at the Homa Bay county teaching and referral hospital where the revenue raised from the hospital have been allegedly ending in the Prof Muga’s pockets.
According to Central Karachuonyo MCA Julius Gaya, there has been theft witnessed between September and November 2019, the HBCTRH lost about wh1.3 million, from the revenue collected in the hospital. Another sh192,837 was fraudulently paid to a company that has never supllied anything to that hospital.
He added, the hospital Administrators are changed to help in concealing the ongoing theft at the county hospital. That county minister is keen on interfering with the ongoing investigations which are allegedly being conducted with DCI officers based at the county headquarters.
A little bird familiar with the ongoing power tussle at the Homa Bay county teaching and referral hospital whispered to 254News that part of the reason Immaculate was transferred to Homa Bay is because whole working there awhile back, she helped the county minister Prof Muga to allegedly steal 109 bags of cement and 60 boxes of tiles which the Professor used to complete his residential house in Makongeni. The bags of cement and tiles are said to have been left at the hospital by a firm known as Nyobu Contractors. This is the company that doing the renovation to the county hospital.
