Patrick Osero of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is leading the Borabu Constituency 2027 parliamentary race with 48.4 percent, according to a survey conducted by Mwelekeo Insights.
Jubilee’s Morara Kebaso follows in second place with 35.5 percent, while the other candidates trail behind.
Osero Opens Up Lead
Osero’s 48.4 percent places him 12.9 percentage points ahead of Kebaso, who has 35.5 percent support in the survey.
The results show a clear gap between the two leading candidates and the rest of the field. Eng. Peter Nyarige is in third position with 8 percent, while Jared Nyakundi follows closely at 7.7 percent.
Gerald Orina rounds off the ranking with 0.3 percent support.
The figures indicate that Osero currently enjoys the highest level of support among the respondents who participated in the survey.
Kebaso has also recorded significant backing, making him the closest candidate to the ODM politician.
Close Competition for Third Place
The contest below the top two is much closer. Nyarige’s 8 percent places him only 0.3 percentage points ahead of Nyakundi, who stands at 7.7 percent.
The small difference between the two candidates suggests a relatively close contest for third position based on the survey findings.
Orina, however, remains well behind the other candidates with 0.3 percent.
The results provide an early indication of voter preferences in Borabu Constituency ahead of the 2027 General Election.
They represent the views of those who participated in the survey and should not be treated as a complete reflection of every voter in the constituency.
Early Picture of 2027 Race
Osero’s performance gives him an early advantage in the parliamentary contest. His support stands at nearly half of the respondents, while Kebaso has attracted more than one-third.
However, the race remains open as the election is still some time away. Political parties are yet to complete the full election process, while candidates have more time to strengthen their campaigns and reach voters.
Changes in political alliances, party nominations, local issues and campaign strategies could also affect the level of support for each candidate as 2027 approaches.
What the Survey Shows
The ranking currently places Osero first, followed by Kebaso, Nyarige, Nyakundi and Orina.
The results show that the main competition at this stage is between Osero and Kebaso, with the remaining candidates recording single-digit support.
The findings offer candidates and political parties an opportunity to assess their current standing and identify areas where they may need to build more support.
