Nairobi County Woman Rep Hon Esther M Passaris on Tuesday July 14 kicked off the relief food drive targeting vulnerable Nairobians by flagging off 900 packs of food consisting of rice, maize and wheat flour, sugar, beans, cooking oil, fortified porridge, sanitary towels and face masks.
Deputy County Commissioners representing Nairobi’s sub-counties will coordinate the equitable distribution of this food within their respective constituencies. They will then be furnished with hand sanitizer donated by Kenya Pipeline Company to help their communities stay safe.
COVID-19 continues to pose an economic crisis to many, especially those who were vulnerable even before the pandemic started. The food drive is one of several interventions by the Office of the Nairobi County Woman Rep to cushion citizens in these uncertain times.
