Nyutu turns down Ruto’s alleged bribe as Gachagua exposes Kenya Kwanza desperation

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has once again taken a direct shot at President William Ruto, accusing him of trying to bribe Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu with KSh 10 million.

According to Gachagua, the goal was to lure the senator into switching sides and pledging support for the Kenya Kwanza alliance. Speaking during a church service on Sunday, May 25, at AIPCA Kihoya in Kangema, Murang’a County, Gachagua openly criticized what he described as a dishonest and corrupt administration led by Ruto.

He said such moves show desperation by the president, especially with the 2027 General Election getting closer.Gachagua told the congregation that Ruto had personally summoned Nyutu and made him the offer.

However, the senator turned it down, saying he could not sell out the people of Mt Kenya. “Nyutu was summoned by Ruto himself and offered KSh 10 million to betray Mt Kenya and join his side,” Gachagua said.

He went on to praise the senator for standing strong and refusing to be part of what he called a corrupt government. Gachagua called Nyutu’s decision a brave act of integrity that should inspire others.

The former deputy president urged voters to support honest leaders who do not give in to pressure or money. He said that bribery and betrayal should not be allowed to decide the future of the Mt Kenya region.

Gachagua made it clear that he is now backing leaders who remain loyal and do not bow to corruption.

“This shows Nyutu is an honourable leader, and those are the kind of leaders I now stand with,” he said. “We cannot let bribery dictate the future of our region.”Gachagua also brought up the case of Embakasi North MP James Gakuya, who has been openly criticizing the government for recent demolitions in Nairobi.

He praised Gakuya for defending residents who were left homeless and for challenging the government’s harsh actions.

According to Gachagua, Gakuya took a bold stand and warned Ruto not to continue mistreating ordinary citizens.

“Gakuya confronted Ruto without fear, warning him to think twice before further victimizing citizens,” Gachagua noted.

He said such leaders give him hope in these troubling times. In his speech, Gachagua warned that Ruto’s actions, including the attempt to bribe Nyutu, show a government that is panicking and losing support.

He said the regime’s reliance on bribes and threats is proof that it is unsure about its future. Gachagua made it clear that he is building a team of brave and honest leaders who will resist such moves and fight to protect Mt Kenya’s voice.
