Nelson Amenya exposes Jayesh Saini’s alleged monopoly over Kenya’s health sector and billions in insurance scams

Jayesh Saini’s grip on Kenya’s health sector has raised serious concerns, with allegations of monopolistic control and unreliable insurance schemes.

Nelson Amenya, along with a section of Kenyans, has exposed how his companies, Minet, Bliss Healthcare, and MAKL, have created a flawed system that puts profits before the well-being of Kenyans.

Teachers, who are among the largest beneficiaries of medical insurance, are some of the worst affected. Many suffer from chronic illnesses like diabetes and hypertension, yet their cover fails to provide adequate medical services.

Hospitals under Jayesh Saini’s network allegedly offer substandard treatment, often prescribing the cheapest drugs because the cover cannot accommodate proper consultation, testing, and medication.

Teachers’ unions have protested, particularly in Eldoret, against the forced use of Bliss Healthcare, a facility that many claim does not meet the required standards.

Amenya has also raised concerns about how teachers have to beg for approvals when they need urgent medical attention. In some cases, doctors recommend hospitalization, but Minet’s bureaucratic processes delay or outright deny approvals.

This forces desperate patients to call KNUT officials to intervene, an indignity that no Kenyan should have to endure. It borders on human rights abuse.

The monopolization of teachers’ health insurance by Minet and its partnership with Bliss Healthcare is a disaster.

Despite the billions allocated to the health cover, the services remain poor. Amenya has accused Jayesh Saini of using part of the funds to hire bloggers who attempt to sanitize his image instead of improving the services.

The amount of money in play is enormous 161 billion shillings but it appears to benefit a select few while teachers suffer.

Nelson Amenya and Kenyans who have spoken out are clear: Jayesh Saini’s control over Kenya’s health sector is a ticking time bomb.

Just as past corruption enablers have fallen, he too will eventually face the consequences. The money stashed abroad will not protect him forever, and history has shown that those who exploit public resources for personal gain do not last.

The calls for action are growing, and unless something is done, more innocent Kenyans will continue to suffer under a broken system designed for profit rather than care.
