Nominated ODM Senator Hezena Lemaletian has raised fresh alarm over her personal safety, stating that her life is in danger and that she has already alerted the relevant authorities.
In a social media post on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, the youthful lawmaker expressed concern for her security, noting that she had taken formal steps to report the matter.
While making the disclosure, the senator did not reveal the identity of those she believes pose a threat to her life, nor did she provide further details surrounding the nature of the danger.
“My life is in danger. I have made all the necessary reports to the relevant authorities,” read her post.
This is not the first time Lemaletian has spoken out about threats to her safety. In 2025, she sought and obtained restraining orders from a court against her estranged boyfriend, Musa Hussein Lenyumpa, following claims of persistent harassment.
The court orders barred Lenyumpa from contacting, harassing, threatening, or assaulting the senator in any manner.
He was also prohibited from accessing her residence or workplace and from using her name, image, or likeness for personal or commercial gain.
Additionally, he was restrained from publishing or sharing any information relating to her, pending further court directions.
At the time, the senator maintained that the alleged harassment had significantly affected her personal safety, privacy, and professional standing.
She accused Lenyumpa of issuing death threats, engaging in acts of physical violence, and spreading false claims regarding their relationship status.

She further alleged that he had physically assaulted her, resulting in injury, and had used social media platforms and bloggers to damage her reputation.
According to the senator, these actions posed a serious risk to both her safety and her political career.
