Meru fallout sparks fierce response from Deputy President Kindiki

Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has spoken out strongly against what he called misleading and dishonest behavior by some leaders who should be working together with President Ruto. In a furious statement, Kindiki said it is disgusting to see leaders who are supposed to support the president’s plan for improving the country instead spreading lies to confuse the public. He warned that such actions are only meant to mislead innocent people and create unnecessary division.

According to Daily Nation, Kindiki made these remarks during an interview where he appeared to respond to claims that President Ruto was made to wait for several hours at State House by Meru leaders who failed to show up for a scheduled meeting.

Though he did not mention any names directly, his tone made it clear that he was frustrated with the kind of politics that some individuals are choosing to play at a time when the government is focused on delivering results.Prof. Kindiki emphasized that he is not ready to take part in what he described as dirty politics.

He stated clearly that the government is not interested in stirring up hostility or creating political tension. He noted that while some people are hoping to pull him and others into political fights, that is not the reason they are in government. He insisted that their job is to serve the people and focus on development, not to waste time on political drama.Reports have suggested that Meru leaders are increasingly unhappy with how the government has handled development promises in the region.

One of the key complaints is that many projects that were promised before and after Ruto’s visit to Meru in April have either been delayed or blocked completely. This has led to frustration among local leaders and residents who feel abandoned and ignored.

Sources say this is one of the main reasons why tensions between Meru leaders and State House have been rising.Kindiki’s statement seems to be a warning to those trying to use such frustrations for political gain. He wants them to stop using lies to fuel anger and division.

Instead, he is calling for unity and focus on the work at hand. While he did not deny that there are challenges, he made it clear that misleading the public is not the solution. His message was that leaders must stop playing games and stand behind the president if they truly care about the country’s progress.
