Citizen TV presenter Mashirima Kapombe had an unexpected and frightening experience at home after returning from the studio on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
The Kenyan journalist shared a series of Instagram Stories showing how her evening quickly changed after she encountered a large snake at her home.
Earlier, Mashirima had posted a picture of herself at the studio, appearing relaxed and ready to wrap up her day.
However, shortly after arriving home, she came across the reptile and began documenting the unusual encounter.
In one of the videos, Mashirima could be seen using a stick to prod the snake while still wearing the clothes she had worn at the studio.
Her reaction showed just how shocked she was by the size of the reptile, with the television presenter expressing disbelief at what she had found.
Mashirima later indicated that she had dealt with the snake, while subsequent footage showed its remains outside the house.
Her son, Kenga, added a humorous twist to the otherwise frightening incident by recording his mother and providing his own dramatic narration.
He jokingly described Mashirima as a victorious “woman queen” after defeating the snake, turning the tense situation into a memorable family moment.
A kitten also appeared during the scene, prompting Kenga to humorously introduce it as his mother’s “trusty lioness” named Buttercup.
