Kisumu thief drills a hole from his hotel room to supermarket, steals monies and other valuables

A thief in Kondele Kisumu booked himself in Hotel City Park which shares a wall with the new Shivling Supermarket along the Kisumu-Kakamega Road then drilled a hole during the night which he used in stealing unknown amount of monies and television sets from the supermarket.

The incident happened on May 19 at night. According to the hotel management, an individual checked in at their facility for a night stay and was allocated a room that shares a wall with the Shivling Supermarket.

The incident was noticed on Wednesday morning when Shivling staff reported to work and noticed a hole in the wall that faces the hotel.

The amount stolen and the values of the Television sets are yet to be known. The police are investigating the matter.

This is the second incident after a gang of thieves dug a tunnel into the KCB bank, Thika branch, and stole sh50 million in 2017.

“Unknown thieves had accessed the vault strong room through an underground tunnel and stole approximately 50,000,000. They broke into two safes and are believed to have to drill holes into the safes. Scene visited. Investigations have commenced. No arrest or recovery made. Case P.U.I,” police said in a statement.
