Politics in Kiranyaga County have taken a different twist with the private detective Jane Mugo hinting to vie for a political seat in the August 8, 2022, General Election.
According to Mugo, she will be contesting for Kirinyaga County women representative position.
“I have served Kirinyaga people and Kenyans at large in various capacity especially orphanage homes, churches and schools as a private citizen for the last 22 years. I won’t mind doing it in elective capacity because giving back is in my blood,” Mugo said.
If Mugo succeeds, she will take over from the incumbent Purity Wangui Ngirici, who will be going for the top seat in the County to battle it out with Anne Waiguru.
In January this year, Mugo caught the attention of the BBC for the private spying job she does.
The international broadcaster in its article christened Mugo “James Bond”
“Kenya has a real version of the spy James Bond, and her name is Jane,” reported the BBC.
Detective Mugo is the country’s most famous and controversial private investigator.
Mugo, who has solved over 100 criminal cases in the country, recently aided police in tracking and apprehending a notorious Nairobi criminal who was on the run, after swindling unsuspecting Kenyans online.
She is currently undertaking charity work in Kirinyaga County to connect with the residents ahead of the 2022 polls.
