Mzee Ajwang’ Nyakwamba (Kajwang’ Senior), a teacher by profession and father to the late Senator Gerald Otieno Kajwang’, current Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang’, Ruaraka MP Hon TJ Kajwang’, Kaptembwo ward, Nakuru MCA Peter Kajwang, among others, shocked mourners who had come to bury his beloved wife Mama Dorcas Ajwang’ at Waondo, Mbita, with his new demands.

Kajwang’ Senior who was speaking in parables while targeting the Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga told mourners on December 20 last year that if the governor will not come from among his children in 2022, he will also die.

“Jakom, Mama(Dorcas) ne okothoo nikech old age. Mama tuo nochako ka wuode ma Gerald othoo bange omedore sama wach treason mar TJ owuok [Former Prime Minister, Mama Dorcas did not die because of old age. Dorcas fell sick when her son Gerald died. Her health later deteriorated when TJ Kajwang’ was reportedly charged with treason]”

PAC Chairman Moses Otieno Kajwang’ who became the senator after the death of his elder brother Gerald Otieno Kajwang’ commonly known by his 2007 rendition of “Bado Mapambano [Aluta Continua]” is eying the Homa Bay county’s top seat.

This is what prompted his aging father to use the parable during the burial of his later mother Dorcas.

Kajwang’ Senior was careful with his words that he will only be alive past 2022 if his son Moses Kajwang’ is given the ODM party certificate and eventually campaigned for to become the second governor of Homabay county.

So far those eying the Homa Bay county governorship include ODM party national chairman and the Suba South MP John Mbadi, Homabay county ODM chairperson and MP Gladys Wanga, Homabay Senator and PAC chairman Moses Kajwang’, Former Kasipul MP and 2017 runners up in the gubernatorial election Joseph Oyugi Magwanga, Former gubernatorial aspirant Enosh Bolo, among others.
