Former National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has come out strongly against President William Ruto, saying that he is unfit to lead the country.
Muturi, who once worked within Ruto’s administration, now believes that the President has allowed corruption to grow unchecked in government.
In his statement, Muturi did not hold back. He called Ruto “irredeemably corrupt and a dangerous character” and said that the President’s leadership is taking Kenya in the wrong direction.
According to Muturi, many state institutions have been weakened under Ruto’s rule, making it easier for public money to be stolen.
He claimed that government resources are being looted openly, and there is no serious effort to stop it.

Muturi also said that the people closest to Ruto, those in his inner circle, are individuals who have been linked to corruption scandals.
Instead of removing them or demanding accountability, the President continues to protect them.
Muturi added that calls for transparency and clean governance have been ignored by Ruto’s administration.
He mentioned recent scandals involving government tenders and suspicious appointments as proof that the rot has spread throughout the system. For Muturi, this is a sign that corruption is no longer being hidden but has become part of how the government operates.
He warned that if Ruto continues to lead the country in this manner, both democracy and the economy are at risk. He also said that the President has been using state power to silence those who speak out against him, including activists, civil society groups, and political opponents.
Muturi believes that this kind of leadership is dangerous and must be stopped before it causes more damage. He urged Kenyans not to fall into the trap of tribal politics and to instead focus on demanding honest and responsible leadership.
Muturi said Ruto’s government is not serving the people but is only interested in personal gain and protecting a few individuals in power.
He also blamed the rising cost of living on government mismanagement and selfishness.
Muturi ended his statement by saying it is time for leaders who care about the country to come together and offer a new direction. He called on civil society, the opposition, and ordinary citizens to speak out and demand change.
According to him, Kenya needs a leader who respects the Constitution, puts the people first, and governs with integrity.
