Amber Ray, a well-known socialite and reality TV star, has opened up once again about her past marriages in a candid social media post.
In a series of Insta-stories, Amber revealed that she had been married twice as a second wife but was unaware that her husbands were already married.
According to Amber, both marriages ended with her being blamed for breaking up the homes, despite being deceived by her former partners.
The mother of two explained that she was misled into these relationships and left to face the public’s criticism. She said, “Let me remind you of this: I’ve shared my truth openly. Yes, I was married twice as a second wife, but the truth is, I didn’t know they were married. I was lied to, used, and left to carry all the blame, blame I took as a lesson. I even shared my story on YouTube because I refuse to hide from my past.”
Amber’s openness about her past has been met with mixed reactions, but she emphasized that she has learned from her experiences and grown from them.
While many accused Amber of being a homewrecker, she defended herself by pointing out that she was not the first or last “side chick” to her ex-husbands. She added, “And let’s be honest, I wasn’t their first or last ‘side chick.’ But I’ve already paid for my mistakes, owned my truth, and moved forward to live my best life unapologetically.”
Despite the public backlash, Amber continues to stand by her past and refuses to be defined by it.
Her posts gained attention after she was labeled a hypocrite for showing support to Nigerian influencer Annie Idibia, who recently went through a divorce from her famous husband, Nigerian musician 2Baba.
Amber expressed how some critics flooded her direct messages with insults for sympathizing with Annie, given her own past as a second wife.
Amber shared her frustration, stating, “It is crazy how some people are flooding my DMs with insults just because I aired my opinion about Annie’s story.
I’ve been called a hypocrite and accused of making other women cry because I was once a second wife.”
She also addressed the double standards in society regarding infidelity, noting how men’s cheating is often excused while women face harsh judgment, even when they have been misled.
Amber pointed out the unfairness of how women are treated, saying, “It’s sad how society loves to justify men’s actions when they cheat but is quick to attack women, even when they’ve been deceived.”
She further asserted that she will no longer carry the shame of her past, adding, “Let me be clear: no one can make me feel bad about my past anymore. I’ve healed, I’ve grown, and I’m not here to carry shame that isn’t mine.”
Amber’s support for Annie continued on January 27, 2025, when she shared a heartfelt message expressing empathy for the emotional pain Annie was experiencing following her 25-year marriage.
Amber acknowledged the toll that such a long relationship’s end can take, especially when the person left behind feels betrayed.
“My heart breaks for Annie. After 25 years of marriage, I can’t even begin to imagine what she’s going through. The pain, the betrayal, the overwhelming emotions and to add insult to injury, the relentless attacks on social media. It’s a lot for one person to endure,” Amber wrote.
She ended her message by sending Annie strength and support, offering her a virtual hug and saying, “Annie, if you ever see this, please know I’m sending you so much love, strength, and the warmest hugs. You don’t deserve this.”
Through all the criticism and judgment she has faced, Amber Ray remains unapologetically herself, using her experiences to connect with others who have gone through similar struggles.
She continues to encourage people to focus on supporting each other and holding the right people accountable for their actions.
