A youth from Migori county by the name Collins Odhiambo is seeking answers over a number of issues from his Governor, Okoth Obado.
Collins is interested in knowing why Migori Governor allegedly spent sh.200 million to take the MCAs to Mombasa to bribe them to pass Public Service board meeting Members they had dropped when students from Migori have not benefitted from bursaries for two years down the line. When hospitals in Migori lack medicine, drugs and basic equipments like needles, gloves and even painkillers.
Mr Odhiambo wants to know what happened to the sh120 million bursary money that was budgeted for in the financial year 2018/2019 that was passed by MCAs.
He is asking where the money went to that it had to be passed in a supplementary budget 2019/2020. And also why the supplementary budget passed not yet disbursed causing some beneficiaries headache with certificates.
He is of the school of thought that a leader who fights education is directly fighting the future of young people.
Collins is alleging that Governor Obado employed his in-law only known as Omuga as chief officer finance.
That he also employed his brother Dalmas as chief officer health and medical services, sister in-law Mary as chief officer Education…and his son Dan who he appointed Director mines. He wants to know the criteria and circumstances used to appoint them.
He is challenging Migory county MCAs not to be cheap to an extent of pocketing sh50, 000 per head after a retreat in coast at the expense of suffering Migorians. The MCAs and those close to Governor Obado are still locked up in coast since Sunday of August 18, 2019. All got a return air-ticket from Kisumu to Mombasa from monies meant for development in Migori.
