Governor Nyong’o reshuffles Cabinet amidst claims of looting

In response to our article published yesterday on the massive looting of county coffers by CECs, the governor of Kisumu county Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o has this afternoon reshuffled his cabinet.

In a press release signed by the county government spokesperson Mr. Aloice Ager, the governor has instituted changes in his cabinet that has seen most CECs implicated in the massive graft moved. The CEC Finance Nerry Otieno Achar has been moved to the Energy and Industrialization docket. The CEC Energy Ms Moraa has been sacked.

These two were the most adversely mentioned in the graft that faces Kisumu county. These allegations were drawn from residents of the county who have been closely monitoring developments in the county. Below is a link to the article on massive looting in Kisumu county


The governor has nominated Mr George Omondi Okong’o for appointment to the Finance and Economic planning docket.

In a quick rejoinder, the residents of Kisumu who spoke to us insisted that the rot was too deep seated that cabinet reshuffle wasn’t enough. They insisted that the DCI and EACC must conduct investigations into the conduct of these public office holders with the view of taking action against them and recovering the monies lost.
