Governor George Natembeya hits out at Raila over unwarranted Ruto alliance

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has accused Raila Odinga of using his supporters for personal gain instead of standing up for the people.

His remarks come after the former Prime Minister formed a political coalition with President William Ruto, which Natembeya believes was done at the expense of ordinary Kenyans who had trusted Raila to oppose the government.

Speaking in Trans Nzoia while distributing free seeds to small-scale farmers in Sikhendu, Natembeya declared that he would be the voice of Kenyans against the government, especially now that the opposition has been weakened.

He stated that he had taken it upon himself to speak on behalf of Kenyans and would not stop challenging the government on issues that affect them. He emphasized that he was not afraid to speak the truth, even if it meant facing political consequences.

Natembeya criticized the Kenya Kwanza regime, claiming that he was aware of a scheme to silence him.

However, he remained firm, saying he would not back down from addressing important issues affecting Kenyans. He insisted that his stand was not about disrespecting the president but about holding the government accountable.

He pointed out that Kenyans were struggling with the high cost of living, unemployment, and poor governance, yet leaders were more focused on political deals rather than solving real problems.

He strongly condemned the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Ruto and Raila, arguing that it was a misplaced priority.

He warned that the country was heading in the wrong direction, describing the agreement as a deal meant to benefit a few people in power while leaving ordinary citizens suffering.

According to him, the broad-based government arrangement was not about national unity but a business deal between politicians.

Natembeya also labeled Raila a political liar, accusing him of taking advantage of Kenyans’ trust to serve his own interests in every election cycle.

He questioned Raila’s history of forming alliances with the government after every election, saying that these deals had never led to any meaningful change.

He pointed out that Raila had previously had handshakes with past regimes, from Moi’s era to Uhuru’s government, yet Kenyans continued to face the same problems.

He dismissed Raila’s latest agreement with Ruto, saying it would not bring any solutions to the country’s economic struggles.

The governor made it clear that his criticism of the administration was not aimed at undermining the presidency but rather at pushing for better governance.

He said he respected the president but would continue to highlight issues of poor leadership. He insisted that leaders must be held accountable for their actions, and he was ready to take up that role despite the risks involved.
