George Kimutai Ruto, popularly known as GK or George Ruto and the son of President William Ruto, has added another heavyweight to his growing public transport fleet: the legendary Baba Yaga matatu.
The flashy vehicle, which has long ruled the competitive Ongata Rongai route, now joins George’s premium “Raptor Family” of standout matatus, further cementing his reputation as a serious player in Nairobi’s dynamic PSV sector.
Social media platforms have been abuzz since the announcement, with photos and videos of the sleek new addition flooding timelines. Many Kenyans are praising the young entrepreneur for his bold investments in luxury public transport.
Affectionately nicknamed John Wick inspired by the popular movie franchise where Keanu Reeves’ character is dubbed “Baba Yaga,” the boogeyman the matatu features a striking dark-and-cream exterior that commands attention on the road.
Its dramatic flickering headlights enhance the fierce, cinematic vibe, while the interior offers passengers comfortable, well-spaced seating and the signature thumping sound system that defines the ultimate nganya experience.
A Rongai Sacco official, Zablon Kimani, confirmed the deal to TUKO.co.ke, describing the vehicle as “worth a couple of million” shillings.
Although the exact purchase price remains undisclosed, industry insiders note that similar high-end, customised 25- or 33-seater nganyas often require investments running into tens of millions of shillings, including extensive modifications.

With the addition of Baba Yaga, George Ruto’s fleet now boasts at least five premium matatus. His collection includes crowd favourites such as:
Mood (known for its solar-powered features and innovative front DJ booth)
ManifestMatrix
Moneyfest
The original Raptor
Many of these vehicles stand out for their luxury upgrades, including bucket seats, powerful audio systems, LED mood lighting, and other high-end customisations that elevate the everyday commute into an experience.
George’s latest acquisition highlights the growing trend of premium nganyas in Nairobi, where operators blend entertainment, comfort, and bold aesthetics to attract passengers on busy routes like Ongata Rongai.
