Former Deputy President Honorable Rigathi Gachagua, while addressing a crowd in Ukambani today, shocked the nation with a bold declaration. Gachagua openly claimed that his life is in danger, alleging that President William Ruto’s government is behind attempts to eliminate him.
According to Gachagua, these threats have become more serious and disturbing, with some even happening in church compounds. He painted a picture of fear and betrayal, pointing fingers at people within the highest levels of power who, he said, are using state machinery to silence him.
In a clip as seen by the writer, Gachagua appeared emotional and visibly tense. Standing before a charged crowd, he paused at times, seemingly weighing his words carefully before delivering each sentence.
“They have tried to kill me more than once,” he said, “even inside churches where we should be safe.” The crowd gasped as he went on to say that these attempts were not random but well-planned moves by individuals close to the presidency.
He claimed the motivative behind the attacks was to stop him from exposing the secrets he carries secrets that could allegedly shake the foundation of the Kenya Kwanza government.
Gachagua further declared that he will not die in silence. He vowed to expose those responsible for the killings of innocent Kenyans since 2022, stating that he has a list of names and incidents that he will make public soon.
He especially criticized the way the government handled last year’s Gen Z protests. According to him, many young people were killed by police during the demonstrations, and he blamed President Ruto’s leadership for turning the security forces against citizens.
His remarks painted a grim picture of a regime that, in his view, uses force to maintain control rather than listening to the cries of the people.
He did not hold back in his speech, accusing the current administration of betraying the public trust. Gachagua expressed regret for being part of the team that brought the current government to power, saying that the promises made to Kenyans have been completely ignored.
His tone was angry and disappointed, and he seemed determined to make things right, at least by speaking out.
Before ending his speech, Gachagua turned his attention to the youth, especially the Gen Z generation. He urged them to register as voters and prepare to vote out President Ruto in the 2027 general election. “Your vote is your power,” he said. “Use it to end this suffering.” His message was clear, the time to act is now, and silence is no longer an option.
