Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe on Thursday June 11 announced 44 recoveries from COVID 19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number to 1,092.
121 individuals had tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours out of 3,291 samples tested in that period. This brings the total number of the affected to 3,215 from 106,247 samples tested so far.
The CS highlighted that three more individuals had succumbed to the disease, bringing the number of fatalities to 92.
Out of the 121 reported cases, 115 are Kenyans and 6 are foreigners while 92 are males and 29 are females. The youngest case was a four month old infant while the oldest being 86 years of age.
Nairobi had 49 cases followed by Busia (37), Mombasa (20), Kajiado (5), Migori (4), Kiambu (2) and Kilifi (2) and 1 case each in Murang’a, and Nyeri.
In Nairobi sub-counties, Kibra had 18 cases, Westlands (9), Kamukunji (4), Ruaraka (4) Dagoretti North (3), Embakasi Central, Embakasi West and Langata (2) cases each and Kasarani, Roysambu, Starehe and Makadara with one case each.
The 37 who tested positive in Busia are all truck drivers at the Malaba border point.
Two of the cases in Migori are from Suna East while Kuria West and Kuria East have (1) case each.
In Kiambu County, the two recorded cases are from Ruiru and Kiambu Town while in Kilifi, the two cases were recorded in Kilifi North. The lone case in Nyeri was from Nyeri Central.
