Former DP Gachagua exposes rift in Ruto’s inner circle with scathing remarks on Farouk Kibet

Impeached former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, known for his outspoken nature and unapologetic remarks, recently made headlines during the launch of the DAP-K offices at Chui House.

In a fiery speech that caught many off guard, Gachagua openly criticized Farouk Kibet, a key aide to President William Ruto.

His scathing comments have since sparked widespread debate in political circles.

Gachagua recalled an incident where Kibet allegedly tried to reprimand him over the phone after a public event.

According to Gachagua, Kibet had expressed his dissatisfaction with the former DP’s failure to defend the controversial Adani deal during his time in office.

The former Deputy President described the encounter as uncalled for and disrespectful, especially coming from someone in Kibet’s position.

He argued that Kibet, who lacks formal education and moral authority, had no right to lecture him on matters of state.

“Farouk Kibet, a class 6 dropout with no moral authority, has no business lecturing me on anything,” Gachagua stated bluntly.

He explained that he chose not to engage in an argument with Kibet at the time but instead directed him to raise his concerns with the President.

“If there’s anyone with the moral authority to lecture me, it’s certainly not Farouk,” he added, emphasizing his disregard for Kibet’s interference in his duties as Deputy President.

The former DP also accused Kibet of overstepping his role within government, suggesting that the aide’s influence had gone to his head.

He claimed that Kibet had become overly powerful, to the extent that even senior government officials could not challenge him.

“Farouk acts like he runs the government. Even the Deputy President can’t question him, but I refused to tolerate his nonsense,” Gachagua declared.

His remarks left the audience in stunned silence, as many were not expecting such a direct and public attack.

Gachagua’s comments highlight growing tensions within the political ranks, particularly between those who feel sidelined and the individuals wielding significant behind-the-scenes influence.

His outburst has not only put Kibet in the spotlight but has also raised questions about the dynamics within Ruto’s administration.

The accusations of unchecked power and lack of accountability directed at Kibet paint a picture of a government struggling with internal rifts and power struggles.

This unexpected confrontation between a former Deputy President and a presidential aide underscores the deep-seated frustrations that persist even after Gachagua’s impeachment.

As political observers analyze the fallout from these remarks, it remains to be seen whether they will lead to further divisions or prompt introspection within the administration.

For now, Gachagua’s words have reignited debates about leadership, influence, and the role of key aides in shaping government policies and decisions.
