A first time MP from Nyanza, Charles Were of Kasipul on Friday awarded sh26 million bursary to college, high school and university students.

Out of this amount, sh10 Million Bursary was issued to tertiary institutions, sh13 Million for Sub County Secondary Schools and sh3 Million for National and Extra County Secondary Schools.

It’s during the tenure of Mr Were that Kasipul Constituency become the best Constituency in Homabay County in KCPE and the second best in Homabay County in KCSE in last year’s national examinations.

Though not highly educated, his love for education is on another level. He has ensured an enabling environment for schools in the entire constituency.

Mr Ong’ondo is envisioning a kasipul where education will close the gap between the poor and the rich.

Other than offering exemplary education through NG-CDF, the Kasipul MP has lobbied a total of sh24 million from the ministry of water to sink boreholes in the constituency.

He will also be issuing fully funded buses to various schools.
