Francis Gaitho, a vocal political analyst and critic of the current administration, has once again drawn attention to alleged state-sponsored intimidation tactics.
Through a post on X, Francis Gaitho revealed the existence of a fake account impersonating a user named Billy Mwangi, operating under the handle @Painhub6_.
He alleges that the account is part of a broader scheme controlled by what he describes as “Statehouse hoodlums.”
In his post, Gaitho accused the operatives behind the account of attempting to lure him into small talk to track his location.
“They’ve been trying to engage me with small-talk so that they can track me through call, and I love seeing how stupid people are,” he stated, underscoring the lengths to which such individuals are willing to go to intimidate him.
The bold exposé comes in the wake of Gaitho’s continued defiance of what he terms as arbitrary and politically motivated orders from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
As a vocal critic of the government, Gaitho’s fearless stance against intimidation has earned him both praise and condemnation on social media.
He further urged his followers to exercise caution by taking swift action against the account, advising them to “Take note, unfollow and block.”
The allegations have sparked mixed reactions online, with some users commending Gaitho for his bravery while others questioned the validity of his claims.
The fake account in question, @Painhub6_, is reportedly linked to state-aligned operatives tasked with silencing dissent.
Gaitho’s relentless criticism of state agencies and his refusal to back down from political intimidation underscore the challenges faced by outspoken voices in Kenya.
It remains to be seen how the government will address these allegations, which point to an alarming trend of online surveillance and harassment.
