“Starting today, we’re launching Facebook Dating in the US. I’m excited to see how it’ll help people come together and find love around interests, groups and events in common” were the words of Zuckerberg on Thursday ahead of the launch.

Stories are told of many couples meeting on social media platforms such as Facebook and the rest. Most of them have turned out to be a success. This is the idea for Facebook developers to work on a Facebook dating site as the Facebook CEO and Founder Zuckerberg narrates,

“One of my favorite things about building Facebook is I can walk through almost any city in the world and people will stop and tell me stories about how they met their husband or wife through Facebook. It’s a great feeling. And until recently, Facebook didn’t even have any features to help with dating.” Zuckerberg recalls.

All privacy, security is already put on place. “We’ve worked with privacy and security experts from the beginning to make it safe and give you control over your experience.” Zuckerberg confirmed.

Facebook Dating will provide Secret Crush after integrating with Instagram. This will allow users to compile a list of friends they have an interest in, to be matched with if the crush lists them as well.

Also, you will be required to open a dating profile that is separate from your Facebook activity.

Facebook Dating is already in over 19 countries including USA, Singapore, Canada, Vietnam, Thailand, Peru, Argentina, Mexico, and Chile.
