Deputy President William Ruto has resurfaced with a strong message on BBI.

The BBI reggae seemed to have been paused with the recent high court ruling which determined that the process was null and avoid as President Uhuru Kenyatta is not able to initiate a constitutional amendment process under the current constitution.

The ruling by the judges has left the two top politicians fumbling to find a way out of the problem that has become a thorn in the flesh.

Deputy President Ruto gave his opinion on the matter during his visit in Kiambu Constituency.

Without mincing his words, DP Ruto told it straight to the two leaders claiming that the judges who nullified the process were justified to do so as it was unconstitutional. He went on to urge President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM Leader Raila Odinga to adhere to the rule of law without using the power to push their agenda.

“Our friends believe that the Constitution and institutions created by the Constitution and the law should facilitate those in power to drive their agenda,” Ruto said.

Ruto further stated that it was not a time for the leaders to issue threats or intimidation, rather they should find another alternative that align to the constitution.

“If the pursuit of those in power is in conflict with the constitution, it is not the constitution to be changed. It is what they are pursuing that should be changed to be in line with the constitution,” he said.
