Susan Njoki was murdered inside Chiromo Hospital Group in Nairobi, and detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have now confirmed the exact time it happened.
According to their findings, she was killed between 12:30 PM and 1 PM on July 15. This was a time when most of the hospital staff and patients were away for lunch, giving the attackers a perfect opportunity to act without being seen.Susan had been admitted to the mental health facility the day before, on July 14.
She was taken from her home in Kileleshwa and brought to the hospital, but less than 24 hours later, she was found dead.
A postmortem revealed that she was strangled, which clearly ruled out any natural cause.
Investigators now believe that her murder was not only intentional but also carefully planned to happen at a time when there would be fewer people around.
Police officers from Dagoretti and Kabete Police Stations have already started questioning hospital workers, especially those who were directly involved in her transportation and medical care.
They also collected surveillance footage from the hospital, which is being used to trace her last steps and identify who was close to her just before she died.
Sources close to the case say the killers may have taken advantage of the lunch hour, a time when there is usually less supervision and fewer movements inside the facility.

Detectives are now analyzing time-stamped CCTV footage and other hospital records to figure out who had access to Susan during that short but critical period.
The DCI is treating the case as a targeted murder and is working to identify everyone who could have played a role.
The hospital management has said they will fully cooperate with the investigation and have also promised to tighten security measures to protect all patients in the future.
Susan Njoki was not just a patient; she was also a nurse and the founder of ToTo Touch, a platform that helped children with mental health issues.
Her family is deeply hurt and confused. They are demanding full justice and want to know how someone under hospital care could be left so exposed.
They are calling on the authorities to act quickly and ensure that the people responsible for her death are arrested and charged in court.
