DCI and ANU foil smuggling plot after recovering 28 pellets from female suspect

Security officers have once again shown how serious they are about protecting the country, and the latest arrest at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport has reminded many Kenyans why constant vigilance matters.

The case involves a 34-year-old woman named Muli Ayan Ndunge, whose attempt to smuggle cocaine into Kenya was stopped before it could succeed.

Her arrest has since stirred strong reactions online, with many people praising the officers involved for their alertness and steady work in fighting crime.

The situation unfolded on Monday evening, November 24, soon after Ndunge arrived in Nairobi from Addis Ababa.

Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit had already received intelligence reports, and they acted immediately once she landed.

Officers moved in and took her into custody, suspecting that she was carrying drugs internally.

She was then taken to the ANU offices for further observation, where the truth quickly became clear.

Within a short time, the suspect expelled 14 pellets of cocaine. Detectives continued to monitor her closely because they believed there was more, and they were right.

She later expelled another 14 pellets, bringing the total to 28. The recovered drugs weighed 912.74 grams and carried an estimated street value of Sh3,650,960.

These details were later shared on the DCI’s official platforms, confirming the scale of the attempted smuggling.

To ensure nothing was left inside her body, detectives arranged for an X-ray scan, which confirmed that her stomach was clear.

This gave investigators the medical proof needed to close the case confidently.

Ndunge is now being held in custody as officers prepare to take her to court to face charges related to drug trafficking.

Once the DCI released the information to the public, Kenyans quickly reacted on social media. Many flooded the comment section to praise the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the Anti-Narcotics Unit for their work.

People expressed gratitude for the growing efficiency of the country’s security agencies and noted that the arrest showed how determined the officers are in their fight against narcotics and other crimes.
