Alai accuses Sifuna of sabotage from inside after Citizen TV live interview with Raila was cancelled

Kenyans were waiting for a big interview on March 7, 2025, between Citizen TV’s Sam Gituku and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. The interview was supposed to be about the political deal Raila made with President William Ruto.

Many people were eager to hear what Raila had to say about this agreement, as it has been a hot topic in the country. But to everyone’s surprise, the interview did not happen.

Citizen TV later announced that it had been cancelled, but they did not give any reason why. After the cancellation, Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai came out strongly and accused ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna of sabotaging the deal from within.

Alai claimed that Sifuna was working against Raila’s agreement with Ruto and was trying to stop it. He also suggested that some people inside Royal Media, which owns Citizen TV, could be involved in blocking the interview.

Alai made it clear that they would not allow such interference to continue. This has now raised more questions about what is really happening inside ODM.

Raila’s decision to work with Ruto has already caused a lot of disagreements. Some of his supporters feel betrayed, while others think it is a smart move ahead of the 2027 elections.

The party seems to be divided, and Alai’s accusations show that there is a lot of tension behind the scenes. Sifuna has not responded to these claims, but it is clear that not everyone in ODM is happy with the new political direction.

The cancellation of the interview has only made things worse. People are now wondering whether some powerful individuals are trying to control the narrative. Some believe that Raila’s team might be having internal fights about how to handle the deal with Ruto.

Others think that there could be outside forces that do not want the truth to come out.

As 2027 gets closer, politics in Kenya is becoming more unpredictable. Leaders are making new alliances, and betrayals are happening left and right.

The accusations against Sifuna and the mystery around the cancelled interview are just signs of the bigger political battles that are coming. Kenyans should expect more drama as different groups fight for power and control.
