Nuru Okanga raises alarm over welfare of alleged former Mudavadi’s aide

Nuru Okanga has sparked fresh debate online after sharing allegations about alleged mistreatment of former personal aide to Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi.

In a social media post, Okanga claimed the man, identified only as Malichi, played a key behind-the-scenes role during Mudavadi’s political engagements, similar to the duties previously performed by close aides to other senior politicians.

According to Okanga, Malichi was allegedly promised a government position should the Kenya Kwanza coalition win the 2022 General Election.

Okanga alleged that nearly three years later, the promise has not materialised, leaving the man in severe financial distress.

He claimed the individual is struggling to provide for his family, with his children allegedly sent home from school due to unpaid fees.

Okanga further alleged that the man is battling depression and has been unable to reach Mudavadi, claiming he has been blocked.

Sharing his personal encounter, Okanga said he met the man recently and was moved by his condition. He claimed the former aide did not have money for food, prompting him to give him KSh 200 to buy supper.

He accompanied the post with a photo showing the man alongside Mudavadi, President William Ruto and former Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa, which he said was taken during earlier political engagements.

The claims have not been independently verified, and Mudavadi has not publicly responded to allegations.

There has also been no official confirmation regarding the man’s identity or his alleged role within Mudavadi’s inner circle.

The post has since attracted mixed reactions online, with some Kenyans expressing sympathy and calling for leaders to take care of loyal supporters.
