Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has once again put the fight against corruption and poor governance at the center of his public agenda, stressing that Kenya cannot achieve meaningful progress without dealing with these problems head-on.
Speaking after a community engagement in Kipipiri Constituency, Nyandarua County, Gachagua made it clear that his campaign for reforms is not just a short-term effort but a continuous push to change how leadership works in the country.
He framed the conversation around accountability, fairness, and the rule of law, values he insisted are essential if Kenyans are to enjoy justice and prosperity.
In his message shared on his official X account on Sunday, September 7, 2025, Gachagua reminded Kenyans that corruption, extrajudicial killings, and mismanagement of public resources are issues that weaken the very foundations of governance.
He explained that such practices rob ordinary citizens of opportunities, slow down development, and leave many communities in poverty despite the country’s potential.
By placing these issues at the heart of his political voice, he positioned himself as a leader who wants to break away from the status quo and restore integrity to public service.
The Kipipiri consultation drew in both local leaders and residents, who were able to interact directly with him and share their concerns.
Gachagua stressed that real reform cannot happen without involving citizens in open discussions about the direction of the country.
His choice to engage people at the grassroots level, particularly in Nyandarua, showed his belief that meaningful change starts with communities that are directly affected by bad governance.
He also linked his visit to a church service earlier in the day, noting that moral and ethical values should not be separated from leadership and governance.
During the consultation, he reiterated that Kenyans deserve a government that works for them, delivers justice fairly, and creates opportunities for economic growth.
He described the current system as one weighed down by impunity and neglect, which has denied people access to resources and fair treatment.
By dismantling these barriers, he said, trust between the government and its people can be restored, allowing the country to move forward together.
