Murkomen accused of using Police as disposable tools in his power games

Police officers across Kenya are now speaking out about their growing fears and frustrations with Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.

Many feel let down, especially after facing legal problems and pressure in their daily duties.

As reported by The Standard, both junior and senior officers are beginning to question whether Murkomen truly supports them or just speaks empty words.

Their concerns have become louder after several viral videos showed officers expressing disappointment in the Cabinet Secretary.

One officer even warned that he might end up alone in court, facing a long sentence while political leaders watch silently from a safe distance.

There is a growing sense among officers that Murkomen is not willing to defend them when they are caught between the law and the difficult decisions they must make on the ground.

A police constable questioned why Murkomen has not spoken up for fellow officers like Central OCS Stephen Talaam and Constable James Mukwana, who are both in deep legal trouble.

The constable urged the CS to stop making empty promises and instead help officers already in serious situations.

He added that only then will police start believing his words and actions.Other officers have been advising their colleagues to be extremely careful about acting on Murkomen’s orders.

They warned that blindly following statements from above without considering legal consequences could destroy their jobs, reputations, and even their families.

These officers are reminding one another to stick to official police procedures and follow the law at all times, no matter what orders come from politicians.

Senior officers such as William Kiambi and Stella Cherono are trying to reduce the growing tension between the public and police. Kiambi reminded citizens that police stations belong to the community and are meant to serve people, not harm them.

Cherono urged residents to avoid damaging police stations, comparing it to burning down their own homes during moments of anger.

She said such actions would only harm the very people they are meant to protect.

Even though President Ruto has held meetings with senior police commanders, many officers still feel unsupported. There is deep worry about what lies ahead, with growing fear that they are being used as scapegoats by politicians.

The officers say that if things do not change soon, trust within the force and between the police and leadership may break down completely.
