James Orengo has boldly exposed how Raila Odinga betrayed the struggle and turned ODM into a family empire built on the pain of the Luo people.
For decades, Raila Odinga has painted himself as a champion of democracy and the face of reform. But behind the curtain, he has been the mastermind of one of the most selfish and manipulative political dynasties in Kenya.
James Orengo, a man who has walked with him through many struggles, has now spoken the uncomfortable truth Raila Odinga has betrayed not just the hopes of the Luo community but the dreams of millions of Kenyans, he even went further asking him to retire.

The people of Nyanza have been used as political tools for years. Every election, they are told to fight, to sacrifice, to bleed in the streets, all in the name of democracy.
Yet the only people who benefit from this pain are those who share Raila Odinga’s last name. One family continues to rise while the rest remain in poverty, with no water, no roads, no jobs.

That’s not leadership. That’s exploitation. James Orengo has made it clear Raila Odinga turned the struggle into a family business.
He betrayed the ideals they once stood for. ODM, once seen as a national movement, is now just a family estate.

It is the only party where a brother runs for president, another for senator, a sister becomes a governor, and a daughter is given a regional seat. All these roles go to one family, while the youth who put their lives on the line are left behind.
How is this any different from the dynasties Kenyans fought to dismantle? This is not accidental. It’s a well-calculated plan to keep power, wealth, and control within the Odinga household.

Raila has denied the community the chance to grow by blocking other leaders. He surrounds himself with loyalists who worship his name instead of serving the people. Those who question him are pushed out, ridiculed, or branded as traitors.
” Even seasoned leaders like James Orengo are now forced to call him out because the betrayal can no longer be hidden. ” James Orengo said.
When the revolution becomes a business, it no longer serves the people.
The truth is painful, but it must be faced. Raila Odinga has failed the people. He has built his name on their backs and walked on their pain to reach the top.

But what has he given in return? Nothing but slogans, empty promises, and recycled speeches.

The Luo community deserves better than a political monopoly controlled by one family.
They deserve leaders who listen, who serve, and who deliverbnot rulers who use them and discard them after every election cycle. It’s time to call things as they are. Raila Odinga is not the solution he is the problem.

His legacy is not one of liberation but of betrayal. Kenya cannot move forward while trapped in the grip of his dynasty.
And Nyanza will never rise if it continues to be chained to a name that has brought more pain than progress.
This shift according to many show that it’s time for Raila Odinga to retire, since many Kenyans feels it’s somehow a betrayal to them.
