Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi exposed in dirty plot to silence MCA opposing corrupt budget

Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi Mohamed is now at the center of a shocking and disturbing scandal following the explosive claims made by Dela Ward MCA Yussuf Hussein Ahmed.

After being held in captivity for nearly six months, Yussuf publicly accused the governor of masterminding his abduction in what he believes was a politically motivated attack linked to a budget dispute.

According to Yussuf, he was kidnapped on September 13, 2024, just two days before he was to meet the governor for a crucial discussion on the Wajir county budget.

Armed assailants reportedly seized him in South C, Nairobi, holding him captive until March 8, 2025. His claims suggest that the timing and method of the abduction were not coincidental, but a deliberate act meant to silence him and push through a budget he strongly opposed.

This story, covered by Tuko News, has sent disbelief across the country. The publication detailed how the abduction stirred public outrage and triggered legal appeals for his release.

Yussuf claims that during his detention, the Wajir county budget was passed in his absence, despite his earlier resistance. This move, he argues, clearly shows that his kidnapping served the political interests of Governor Ahmed Abdullahi, who he believes was directly involved.

The governor, on the other hand, has dismissed the allegations as false and speculative, calling them a political witch-hunt ahead of the 2027 elections.

However, many residents and political observers find the timing of events too suspicious to ignore. By attempting to deflect blame, Governor Abdullahi appears more interested in saving face than addressing serious concerns about leadership and justice in Wajir.

Instead of launching an independent investigation or cooperating with authorities, he shifted attention by claiming that nine MCAs opposed the budget and questioned why only Yussuf was targeted. But this reasoning does little to clear his name.

It actually raises more questions about his involvement and the possibility of selective political intimidation. If one of the nine was abducted, who’s to say others won’t be next? Yussuf’s ordeal must not be downplayed as simple rivalry, it reveals a dangerous culture of political silencing that cannot be tolerated.

Governor Abdullahi’s record now faces serious scrutiny. It is no longer just about mismanagement or poor service delivery; it’s about alleged criminal tactics to crush dissent.

This goes beyond politics this is about human rights, governance, and the safety of elected leaders. His appeal for calm and due process rings hollow when he stands accused of such a serious act.

While the Directorate of Criminal Investigations warns the public about fake abductions, there is nothing fake about a man disappearing for six months and emerging with a credible and consistent story.

The national government and independent agencies must launch a full and transparent investigation into Yussuf’s abduction and the governor’s alleged role.

If these claims are proven true, Governor Ahmed Abdullahi will not only lose his political legitimacy but could also face criminal charges.

Leaders must be held accountable, especially when power is used to harm rather than serve the people. Wajir County deserves leadership that upholds justice, not one that hides behind political statements while citizens suffer in silence.

Yussuf’s bravery in coming forward must not be ignored, it must be the turning point that exposes the rot in Wajir’s leadership once and for all.
